Still waterlogged but the rain stopped about 7 this morning, no holidays get together today and it was mid 70's so I went out awhile this morning and again this afternoon. Went to a homesite on city property this morning, no house there since the 1960's but there's a bunch of pecan trees that people get pecans from. Two wet to hunt, water standing everywhere so I only stayed a half hour at most. Only coin was a rotten zinc penny, but got the keys someone lost, four tops from the ever present ant poison canisters and an old ring.
This afternoon I hunted near the community center, got a several clad coins and pennies and another 1957 Roosevelt dime. The one on the right in the second photo. It was right at the limit of the A&S's depth limit with the 5.5 coil and, like the 1952 wheatie I posted below, I don't think it would have got it in dry ground. That's the 5th 1957 Roosie I've found since the middle of July. I've mentioned my wife and her medical problems on here quite a bit this year, the docs got her blood pressure problems straightened out but darn if she didn't get a terrible case of the Shingles about three weeks ago. She's had a tough time with them, but is doing a lot better so maybe she'll be up to par in another week or so. If anyone doesn't know, Shingles is a Herpes Zoster virus that every person who has had chicken pox has for the rest of their life. When it recurs as shingles it affects the nerves and is extremely painful. Everyone who has had chicken pox is subject to having an outbreak of Shingles at any time, especially after the age of 60, and one of every two people will have an outbreak by the age of 80 so all of us who had chicken pox as a child are at risk. I took the photo of her yesterday, not too shabby for a 65 year old . She looks to be closer to 40 than 65, most people who don't know us thinks she's my daughter. You can tell by her expression she wasn't too thrilled about me taking the photo so I'll have to delete it before she finds out I posted it or I'll get my a$$ chewed off.
