The TM-800 was being manufactured by Discovery and being marketed by White's when Roy and I acquired the company. We continued the arrangement, holding the patents on this unit. We realized that this niche market would be too limiting and developed the Baron, showing it to White's management. They then chose to stop buying from us and copied the two box, except for the circuitry. They obviously chose to use an older existing circuit which is not as efficient as the Discovery. Also some reported an audible oscillation at high frequency. I had designed a new circuit board for the unit using the same circuit before the White termination. We chose to make some requested changes and brought out the TF 900. Because there was one less step in the food chain, it could be sold for less.
