Here something I found that George had mentioned about using the Deep Hunter with the CoinTrax. If you read it, you will read how he discribes receiving help from the Deep Hunter in poor signal to noise ratio conditions.

The Deep Hunter module should work ok with the CoinTrax II.
However, the CoinTrax II has sufficient sensitivity for most applications and the DH module is not needed. Also, you must have an extremely clean uniform soil environment to take advantage of the extra sensitivity. Usually this is not the case.
The DH module increases detector sensitivity by increasing the loop drive voltage. Therefore, it is useful when you need to increase the Detection signal to noise ratio. In other words, it is especially advantageous if you use the DH module when you have external interference. For example, interference due to other detectors (that operate at 12.5 KHz) or problems with power lines or nearby radio stations. Under these conditions run the DH module at maximum then adjust the CoinTrax II sensitivity for stable operation.
