I made a post about my Cointrax going crazy. I made sure the batteries were good and swapped out the base module but it still didn't act right. You said, "I would pay close attention to the batteries, and certainly if they are carbon zinc, or rechargeable cells. The battery leads wire & connector.", and a couple of weeks ago I checked it again. I didn't find anything but when I put it back in the case it worked fine. Early last week I was using it when a guy came up and asked a few questions about detectors, I turned it off and laid it down but when the guy left it wouldn't power up 
. Haven't checked it yet, but would be it's still the same battery related problem.
