I've used the SST for a couple yrs. now and for me it is excellent for working in heavy
nail infested old home sites. I have pulled a many
of coins that was laying right with square nails
and other Iron objects that I have been over with other detectors. I set the disc.just where the Iron will come through when switched over in Iron mode. Then I will switch to single tone mode and when a good signal breaks through I then flip the switch back over to Iron and you will here the familiar Baron grunt sounding with a good solid tone mixed in and the Led will normally lock on the coin. For me I found just Using in Iron Mode where you here every piece of Iron gets on my nerves after a while. With the single tone with the disc. set just enough to eliminate the nails the SST. runs a lot quieter and still does a good job pulling out the coins with the nails but I always feel I may have missed something when running disc.above the nail. I hope I haven't confused anybody with the way I hunt in Iron sites with the SST. and I apologize for the long Post.
