I'm surprised the coppers come out of the farm fields in good condition, alot of fertilizer/chemicals have been used for years. I suppose freezing them solid for 6 months of the year helps
My son went swimming at a pool in Olds today, so I checked out a homestead that once stood in a farm field. I only had about a half hour and didnt know exactly where the house or barn used to be. Found some broken glass shards and other clues fairly soon, lots of iron targets. Will have to go back soon and see if I can find some goodies
Did find this Olds Stampede pin(?)
Olds has had a fair for more than 100 years but I've never heard of it being called Stampede, very interesting....
Found a couple of harness buckles including this huge iron one
The 'debris' field is quite large, will take several hunts to cover it all
