I think the Goldtrax has a small edge, but that could be just because I prefer it's audio over the Cointrax audio when hunting where there's a lot of iron in the ground. I set the audio to give low tone on iron, mixed high/low tones on foil and nickels and high tone for everything else. I set the A&S the same way for that type hunting and both do pretty darn well. Well enough I seldom use the GMT 1650 anymore. The Cointrax is deeper, but mine is a lot noisier in trash than the Goldtrax or A&S.
