A new detecting buddy, Herbert Carlisle, and I hunted an old church site, the church was moved in 1939 so nothing but a pavillion and cemetery there now, for a couple of hours this morning. Slim pickings but I got a Barber dime and a couple of "ruint" wheaties, one dateless and the other looks to be a 1931, and also a tick that I didn't know about until I got home. Also a key and two small caliber round balls. The bullets have ramrod marks so they were almost for sure fired from a cap and ball .36 caliber pistol. Coins and key were only three inches or so down, but one of the bullets was near twice that. I used the A&S with 8 inch coil and Herbert was using a Garrett GTP 1350. He got a depression era tax token, and clad dime in the gravel drive that goes to the cemetery. The two 1957 wheaties and whatzit in the bottom photo were found yesterday where I got the Barber half Tuesday.
