You're doing pretty darn well with the Cointrax DG. Three silver coins and a dozen wheaties in 10 to 15 hours is very good 
. The big negative when hunting older sites is that they are usually loaded with iron, at least all the older sites around here are. Also a lot of shotgun hulls and various size bullets and bullet cases. The good side is there usually isn't much modern trash like tabs. If you don't have one, a 5.5 inch coil would help in the iron but they're hard to find. Also kind of expensive when one shows up, but they do work well in trash and don't lose much depth compared to the 8 inch coil. Hang in there with the old town site, even if you have to dig some iron,. There's got to be some goodies there.
