Youre doing well with the CoinTrax, good to hear that you havent given up on it.
Interesting way of using it, hunting in all metal. I do the opposite because I like the 3 tones in SD disc mode and check the size etc in all metal...use what ever works for you.
I like ghost town hunting too, problem is most have been hunted over the last 40 years or so.
Sometimes a little extra research is required to turn a hunted out ghost town into a bonanza.
There is a ghost town that has very few targets left, I dont think I have found a coin in the townsite yet. Doing a little extra research produced an early picture of the towns picnic site. It was less than a half mile away, the picnic site produced close to 100 old silver coins! Almost every town had a picnic site, usually by water, find it and you'll do really well
Dont get lazy with the pulltab/zinc signals at old sites...old coppers (Indian heads etc), half dimes will read zinc. If I'm hunting a modern park, I'll pass on the shallow pulltab/zinc's but will dig the deeper ones if its an old park
