It's still too darn hot, 97 to 98 with heat indexes 10 degrees hotter, and I had a bad fall late yesterday that has me gimpy but I went detecting today. There's a really huge pecan tree on city property that was maybe 50 feet from where big house that dated from the 1880's used to be. I found a nice 1920's era watch fob, a couple of early mercury dimes and two or three wheaties there several years ago but it must have been used as the garbage pile by whoever lived in the house as it's loaded with rusty can parts, old ant poison cans, iron, older type screw off bottle caps and other metal junk. It's a pain to hunt but I hunted a very small part of it today because it was in the shade
. Only coin today was a 1919d wheatie. Thought the aluminum thing was a token but although it has a rim there's no writing on it. The heat wasn't too bad in the shade, but there was about a 10 mph wind that helped.
