Denny and I hunted an old homesite for a few hours today. The house was supposedly built before 1890, and if I understood the guy it's been vacant for around 30 years. We were hopeful of finding old silver but no luck. Denny got four wheaties, a couple of early memorial pennies, several catridge cases and shotgun hulls and a case pocket knive that can possible be cleaned up. I got 8 wheaties, four 1966 dimes, a 1998 nickel?, a MS tax token, a half dollar size Fisk tire token with a 1938 date and like Denny, several catridge and shotgun hulls. Also got the rusted out knife and stem for an A model or T model car tire, and a 1930's or earlier ladies brass compact that's not in the photo. I used the A&S with the 5.5 coil, Denny used a Garrett Ace 250. Top photo is the house where we hunted, second is what I found minus the compact, next is the Fisk tire token and last is an ad Fisk ran in magazines.
