That place belongs to Denny's kinfolks, as does another homesite about a hundred yards south of that one that dates to about the same time period. We're gonna hunt both places a lot more throughly than we hunted the one yesterday if we can get together on a time and the weather allows. We basically just did a hit or miss hunt at the one in the photo, and one of his uncles and a cousin walked over and we spent about as much time talking to them as we hunted. The house in the photo looks to have been a log house originally, at least it has log beams under it, with the lap siding that was popular around here in the 1950's put over the logs. I have no doubt there are a few older silver coins there but finding them in all the trash might be a problem. Except for two coins and the Fisk token, which were two to three inches down, the other coins were closer to five with the deepest being one of the 1966 clad dimes maybe six or a tad more. All the wheaties with readable dates were from 1940 to 1953, got to be older coins than that there.
