The guy I've had my auto and home insurance with since 1975 owns a vacant lot next door to his State Farm insurance agency. The lot is on south main street and had a house on it from the early 1890's until the mid 1960's. I've been meaning to ask him about detecting it for years and finally got around to asking him yesterday and got the OK. It was too hot to get out but I took the A&S/5.5 coil and spent about 45 minutes checking it out this afternoon. Got three fruit jar lids, the cylinder from a toy cap pistol, a thermostat from an old car, several bottlecaps and two dimes. A 1917 at 5+ inches and a 2000 barely under the surface that were only a few feet apart. It's loaded with nonferrous trash, no way to dig ever nonferrous signal so I kicked in the notch. Gotta be some older coins there, but pulling them out of the nonferrous trash is gonna be a problem. The bulding in the photo with the green X is the State Farm building, lot outlined in yellow.
