Sorry Joe for taking so long to respond, Didn't see your post until this evening.
Here is a closeup pic of the lower portion of the coil, the lower portion of the cane sticks out about 1/2" an inch.
It's a crud setup I put together on the fly, And already mashing out an idea of putting together a more professional cane setup that will allow the coil to be used as shown in the photo or easily be used as a regular coil setup (swinging) for metal detecting.
