.......I had a base Baron a while back and really regret selling it.......it was a lot less confusing than the Baron with all of the modules...I tried to find an A&S Special or a Baron II.......no leads at all except for Mr. Bill who offered for sale I believe it was a Baron II..........the economy is hitting me hard and could not afford the Baron II.......well after a lot of searching I found a Compass Coin Scanner Junior..(for a lot less)....no meter but it has the Auto Notch plus has the Audio options of TRI, DUAL, and OFF......Still working my Nite shift at the hospital so no time to really test it out besides just throwing coins on the carpet in my house......which is really not a bad test it can find all of the coins amissed all of the rebarb.......Also tested it out in my front yard.....So far it seems to be equal to my old base Baron..........really it is hard to tell..... need to spend more time with it!!.....these days I spend very little time looking at the meter while hunting....most is done just listening to the tones......also in very trashy areas the Auto Notch can help me concentrate mainly on the Nickels when I am trying to find the old gold jewelry........You know.....low tone on Nickels and a higher tone on the other coins.....while the pull tabs are nulled out a or at least are quiet......Anyway I like most of the Compass Detector's ....it is just too bad that the Company is not around any more for they do have a Loyal Following!!....Joe
