Last Friday my wife and I were talking about places we lived when we were growing up and she said let's ride up to the Eurica/Shiloh community and see if any of the old houses her family lived in were still standing. We only found one that's still standing, barely, that's in woods with only a field road going by it. There were posted signs everywhere, but we found the owner and he okayed us going in to look at it, and to my surprise my wife asked him if it would be okay to detect around it. She said she would like to have a coin or something from around it to keep, he said no problem. Today we went there, she carried a folding chair to set in while I looked for her a coin. Really rough as there's saw briars, vines, undergrowth of all kinds and evidently it was used as a dump from all the cans and other junk. I used the A&S with 5.5 coil and it took awhile but I found the 1957 wheatie in the photo, which also shows what it looked like in a Virtual Earth photo that is evidently quite a few years old as the area is heavy woods now. The reddish blob in the lower right is the rusty tin roof. We're going back this winter, after some of the undergrowth dies out and deer season is over to see what else we can find. She really liked it that we found a coin there, and said one of her brothers probably lost it
