I was born in a shotgun sharecropper house in the north end of a cotton field. The field is still there but the house is long gone. A friend, who owns the property now, and I hunted where the house was for several hours and found a few buttons but no coins. I'm going back to the place we went yesterday after deer season is over. My wife had a big family, including five brothers, two sisters and gobs of cousins, so there's a good possibility there's a few more coins there. An interesting, rather sad side note: One of my mom's first cousins, he was a minister, lived in that house in the 1930's. His first child, a little girl, fell in the fireplace when she was three years old and was burned so badly she died. My wife took the photo of the fireplace from inside of what's left of the house.
