The Cointrax II, or older Cointrax models with version 2.2 chip installed, is still at the head of the pack 
. The few negatives I've seen posted were from those who didn't take time to learn it, and it does take some time as it has a lot of modes, features and settings. For a lot of years I was like many of those you currently see on the forums in that I had to try every new hotshot detector that came out, even after I got the Cointrax Baron back in 2000 or there abouts. I liked some of the new detectors, but while some were lighter and easier to set up I didn't find one that could do what I wanted from a detector as well as the Cointrax. I'm fortunate in that I could be using any detector out there but I still have the Cointrax, and three other Baron models to go with it.
