George said when he designed the Cointrax chip he put the Goldtrax all metal mode in it without changing anything at all, and with the standard disc and all metal modes he put in the Cointrax 2.1 and 2.2 chips the audio can be set to give the staccato response like the Goldtrax gives on iron. The only difference I've been able to tell between my Goldtrax and Cointrax with the 2.2 chip in all metal mode is that the Goldtrax has more pronounced variations in the audio. In disc mode the Cointrax is deeper than the Goldtrax disc mode, and although I haven't compared them it should also be more sensitive to small gold in disc mode because the gain/sensitivity can be set a lot higher.
