sst bad?

rich like kevin why do you not like the sst? i personally have never owned one but my brother in law did for a long time. this machine did exceptionally well on very small gold jewelry. i have seen him retrieve a small gold stud earring piece at 6.5 inches. during the times we hunted and he used it he found a lot of small gold and other small items from many inches down. just curious as i would like to have one in the future but if there is something im missing i would like to know as maybe it would help me whether to decide to pursue finding one or not. thanks and happy hunting..
