rich im not trying to say the sst outperforms the baron in any regard. i am only trying to get as much info on the sst as i can to help decide whether i want to pursue finding one to purchase in the future and the more info i have the easier it is to make a decision. overall i have no doubt the baron is a better machine i was just trying to say that the sst was able to find very small gold items and i was surprised at how well it did for this. thanks for all your help and hope you have a great day and happy hunting...
