As soon as I find more dirty pennies and save up some more lint I'm going to try it with water. The pennies came out of the tumbler the same color as the lint, sort of a grayish color, but after removing the lint I tumbled the pennies for a half hour with just water with a little dishwasher detergent in it and that got rid of the gray color.
