The photo below shows a tot lot at the elementary school down the street. Every detector I have, and all the others I've used in it and other playgrounds except the Freedom III in disc mode, start picking up the blue poles in both disc and all metal modes over a foot away just as they do other metal poles. No way to detect a coin much closer than a foot from them, but the blue poles make the Freedom III null in disc mode and it will detect a coin that's within two inches of the poles. It responds to them in pinpoint mode like the other detectors I've used, and picks up the other poles like my other detectors, but not the blue poles. Odd.
