..And I know you knew the outcome of the contest beforehand as you had tested the Mr. Bill modified Classic III a month or so ago. How would the Classic II compare to the one you tested? My modified IDX Pro does'nt air test all that well, but it will go pretty deep in my soil. I think that the deepest coin found with my IDX Pro with the small 6½ " coil was an indian head penny at 7 inches. So that is about what I would expect for a coil of that size. The eight inch coil on my IDX Pro will airtest a dime at about eight inches a quarter at about ten inches, that is inside the house.
..The Classics are pretty quiet in the iron trash, so that makes up for not being all that deep. I run into more masking caused by aluminum trash than iron anymore, the parks department mower guys just run over the discarded aluminum soft drink and beer cans, can slaw everywhere, I have to hear more and more of it everytime I go detecting
