I always meant to try a Mark I, but never got around to doing it. Speaking of a mod that adds depth, I bought a Newforce CS-5ZX, which was a joint effort between Discovery and C-Scope, in 1997 right after they hit the market. It has a stand alone version of the Cointrax module board in it but has 10 tones, one for each meter segment and a different setup for the notch feature. I liked using it, it was darn good for coins and jewelry, and I found my only Civil War belt plate with it, but even in my mild ground it didn't get very good depth and I traded or sold it. A few years after I let it go, when I was testing the prototype chips he upgraded for the Cointrax, George told me C-Scope had them restrict the depth and if I got another one to put a jumper across the J3 connection points on the board to get rid of the restriction. Paul WV bought one off eBay about two years ago, I traded him for it and darn if it didn't turn out to be the same one I had before. With the jumper installed it goes about as deep, if not as deep, as the Prohunter, Goldtrax and the other base Baron models.
