The Coin or Jewelry mode would be a good place to start. So would setting the sensitivity around midrange until you get used to it. As I said in the email, it can be kind of confusing to make adjustments until you use it awhile so don't get discouraged. Once you get the hang of it you'll find it's a kickazz detector
