Wel, I like to do just the same as you just did.
The notable difference being it's almost impossible to find a decent detector at that price over here.
I have been using cheap detectors for years now, convinced that they're all I need for modern coinage hunting, and especially at the crowded summer beaches.
I recently bought a 1212x for the equivalent of $215, new in the box as my Millennium II was, and it has already (after 5 outings) paid twice for itself.
Congrats on the great bargain ! Wish you great finds with this detector !
