I feel dumb because as before I started cutting the glue on the cover seams, I could tell the guts of the coil were VERY loose and slamming around in the cover housing. So I bet the wires or one wire, has broken away from where the armored wire enters the top cover. (duh, I was getting falsing sometimes at the outer part of each swing...so I should have known something was loose)
But I can't get the black armored wire to get loose where it enters the top white plastic cover half. I have gotten all around it with a thin blade, but still can't see any movement on the cable.
That area around the cable is shaped like a upwards cone. Should I cut that white plastic away?
At this point, there is no slack on the inside of coil guts and the TOP cover, so I can't peek in there to see if wires are broken, and don't want to force anything.
