I got the idea of removing the chip using a chip puller and even rigged up an alligator clip I connected to myself and a microwave(on both ends of a grounding wire, I had made up?) Removed the chip, cleaned out the mounting socket (using a small bowl with electrical parts cleaner, to dip the cleaning filter in) and both sides of the chip (very carefully, using a coffee filter as a rag (less re-pollution than a rag or paper towel) and carefully re-installed the chip (making sure it was flat, not on an angle in the mount. Anyway, that fixed all my problems, except one, which was a broken push, push switch. Found that switch online, (ordered 10!) and was able to unsoldier/soldier in a new one successfully! It worked for me and I have not had any problems with either Cointrax since? Good luck Greg!
