I don't know why I can't find hardly any coins from 1820s to 1900. Maybe people quit heavy farming when the Industrial Age started around 1840-1850, and people went to work at mills?
Last weekend I went by my best cornfield because my son said he saw tractors with disc harrows on the local roads. Sure enough, the field was harrowed but not plowed/planted, so I was stumbling on all the sod clumps.
Can't get any depth like that, but after 1 hour in the old sweet spot, I got a poor 1821 LC that at least had a date. Nothing else old for the next 2-3 hours. That is the newest date big copper there so far.
