There must be a way to have coils made, as anything that was once made, should be able to be re-made....except someone said some parts in the Cointrax control module are no longer made?
the 5.5 is really great. It took me a long time to realize what JB said about it; I'd always just go with an 8 because it seemed fine and covered more ground
I sure wish I would have bought the new 2.1 Cointrax chip in case I ever found an old used modular Cointrax.
I only have the E-class Cointrax, and I would like to try the modified modular Cointrax like JB used.
Speaking of JB, in his last couple of years hunting, he seemed to not use that Cointrax as much as he once relied on. He was using a different brand that was a stripped version? Maybe A&S Special or one that is similar from Kellyco?
I wonder if he stopped using it, if it was the weight of the old metal Cointrax, but I don't recall if he ever made the newer plastic housing fit on his? I don't think so.
I mostly used just my ProHunter for years, but the last couple of years, I prefer the E-class, but I don't have a good answer on why. My PH has a lightweight homemade housing made of thin fiberglass, and the batteries are mounted under the armcup. So I don't have the weight problem as a reason.
I will try the PH with the 5.5 this week as soon as the snow cover is gone.
I still have the Deephunter on my Prohunter, but rarely ever use it. I could never prove that it found anything that could not be found with it turned off. I lack the skills that JB had when comparing things.
