I don't know how many people still read this forum but I'll post it here first. Baron owners know that it's virtually impossible to find coils for our machines. I've been researching for a while and I may have found a way to adapt some very common coils to work on the Baron. It involves a plug and jack to mate the coil to the Baron and a capacitor to match transmit coil impedance. The capacitor will be wired into the adapter. I'm waiting on one jack to arrive and I'll assemble it, try it out, and post the results.
Also, I spent about an hour in the local park today. Most every other detectorist has given up on it. I found one quarter, two dimes, three nickels, six pennies, and not much junk. Quite a testament to the Baron's ability. I have two Bounty Hunters (3300 and Lone Star) and a DFX. I'm pretty sure none of them would have done any better. Probably not as well, especially on the nickels. It's still my favorite machine.
