Cristina, I met you when you were about 2 years old. I used to work with your mother's fiance - Richie Cabrera. He was suicidal after that plane crashed, everyone thought he was either going to do himself in our lose his head. He and your mother were going to get married. After the crash he used to bring pictures of you to work and brought you in once. This was about 30 years ago or in that area. I don't know what ever happened to him because I only worked there two years but glad to hear you are well and sound like a very together person. Nobody knows why things happen, supposedly there is a reason for everything, no matter how bad. You were a cute little thing!

: I was 17 months old when I survived Eastern
: Flight 401. My mother, Carmen Jorge, was
: killed in the crash. I was told that there
: was another child on board that also
: survived. I fortunately have no
: recollection of the crash now, but the loss
: of my mother has of course been a life long
: source of sorrow. Thanks to the website
: administrator for remembering those lost and
: honoring their memories in a respectable
: way.
:
: I'm sorry to hear of the passing of Ms.
: LaRusso. I would love to communicate with
: her grandaughter.

: I am old enough to remember the horrific
: crash
: of Flight 401, but recently, a young friend,
: who was not born until years after the
: crash, was telling me of her grandmother
: experiencing a plane crash in a
: "swamp" and after some
: discussions we realized it must have been
: this flight. I checked the survivor listing
: and sure enough, the grandmother's name,
: Jessie LaRusso, was there. My friend recalls
: her grandmother speaking of two children
: that she pulled from the water who stayed
: with her until they were rescued. Does
: anyone have any more details? Mrs. LaRusso
: passed away several years ago, but her
: granddaughter is curious.
:
: To all the passengers and crew of flight
: 401, may God bless you.
