Robert “Bud” Marquis, of Homestead, Florida, the hero of the Eastern Air Lines Flight 401 crash that occurred on the night of December 29, 1972, in the Everglades 18 miles west of the Miami International Airport, died Friday, November 21, 2008 as a result of complications following injuries sustained during a fall, in Homestead.
