The 36th Anniversary of Eastern Flight 401

It doesn't seem like a year has passed since we made that unforgettable airboat ride to the crash site for a never to be forgotten memorial service! And now our beloved Bud Marquis has left us. I know God truly rewarded him for his help that night! We'll miss you Bud! It has also been an exciting year for some of us as we are moving forward on a tribute (memorial). Ron Infantino is the force behind it! It may be 36 years but we are working hard for this dream to become a reality! One of the the highpoints this year was meeting Miguel Junco, the 11 month old baby whose parents did not survive. Jan handed him to me, I checked him over and then gave him to Mercy and asked her to keep him warm until we got out. Can you imagine the joy I felt as I hugged "our baby" 35 1/2 years later!!!!!! Miguel is a fine young man and is very involved with us in the memorial. The Miami Herald will be doing a piece on the memorial and the 6 of us are getting together on New Years Eve for a photo that will run with the article. On a sadder note, my dad is very sick and I took a leave of absence in mid Sept to be home with him. Mom and Dad have lived with me for almost 33 years. Each day now is a gift. If he makes it to Jan 17th he will turn 94. Please keep him and my family in your prayers. So tonight, as we remember that night in 72 I want all of you who lost loved ones on 401 to know that my prayers and my heart go out to you. TRULY, THEY WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN!!! For my fellow crew members and passenger survivors.....Happy Birthday! 36 years ago we were given the gift of life!May God bless each of you touched by 401 and may his blessings of health and happiness be upon you and your families in the coming year! And Peter...thanks to you for making this site available! And to Ron and Mercy and Miguel and Jan and Patti.....our dream of that tribute will become a reality. Ron...thanks for all you've done towards it!!!!!! Beverly Raposa EAL Flight 401 Stewardess Survivor
