I remember that night all so well, I was working in Sales with Alitalia Airlines in Miami at the time and was escorting a large group of tourist to Kennedy airport and was transfering the group from the Eastern Terminal to Alitalia's area.
This is the first time I tell my story, after the transfer was finished I waiting till all the passengers were on board their flight to Italy.
At that point I returned to the Eastern terminal to return back home to Miami which I had reservations on EAL flight 401, by the grace of God I missed the aircraft by 5 minutes only to watch it pulling out of the gate, I remember asking the the gate agent if they could possibily try to board me even though the flight was just a few feet away from the gate finger. I was told that EAL had a later flight back to Miami that left at 11pm and would arrive sometime around 1:15am in Miami. The rest is history, I was fortune not to be on that flight my reservations If I remember correctly were for first class.
Even after all this time that has passed it has never left my mind.
