Hello Marcia...it has been so long since I have had contact with a fellow EAL commrade. I don't know where your base was...here in Atlanta my assigned flights were L-1011's and A-300's departing from B concourse. Our wide body flights were very special to me. As we were retiring our L-1011's I had the priviledge to take care of our new Boeing 757's. What a beauty they were. The big Rolls Royce engines were music to my ears. We had so much fun in our jobs it didn't matter how many hours we worked each day. Atlanta Hartsfield became a second home to me.
I went back and researched to the boneyard of aircraft and some of our aircraft are still there. I have pictures of our aircraft when they were in service. I actually found a picture of one of our DC-10's as she flew out of Denver Stapleton. Unfortunately I lost it when my system crashed. It was titled "Ain't she gorgeous". She had taken off at sunset with all of the windows open and lit up like a roman candle. I do have some pictures left. I can send you some if you would like.
Take care and it was nice hearing from you.
Michael (ATL)
