Sorry to take so long to get back to you. I remembered this accident over the years and I flew out of Maimi on Locheed 1011 and was so surprised at how effortlessly the plane took off. This was in 1979 and this was the first time on was on such a large passenger plane. In discussing with friends the trip I went on it reminded me about the accident,as my friend had read Mr. Fuller's book Ghost of Flight 401.
I justed searched on MSN for information as our memories grow vague over time. When I found this site, I like yourself, was taken by total surprise at the information being given from everywhere. This site, to me, is as important as the Memorial to be placed at the site.
Here, we have passengers, flight attendants, survivers, resuers, and on and on adding so much information to this storey that it brings back to life some who perished that night and those that survived. It's hard to know how many people have read all the information but I'd bet its thousands. The sories here help us put life in perspective and remind us to live each day to it's fullist.
Lastly, we have to thank the person who started this website. I'm sure more stories will be coming from others as they find the site and start reading all the information. Glad you survived the crash and have put more details so all can appreciate the heroisms, the injured, friends, and all that happened to survivors and respect those who did not.
Many thanks, John
