Dear Beverly, my name is Amanda. My father Sol's first cousin Moe Lustig and his wife Julie, were among those lost on Flight 401. I was 10 years old at the time, but I still remember how devastated my parents were as they told my brother and I what happened, after receiving the call from my aunt. Sometimes I would ask my dad about it, but I learned a lot from different sites, video accounts of the crash and the NTSB report. I've followed this and other sites over the last several years, and wanted to post, but waited until now. My daughter's Bat Mitzvah was on December 29, 2007, the 35th anniversary, and that day I found myself thinking about the survivors, victims and families - and we had just lost my mom six weeks before. I cannot imagine what you, your crew and the surviving passengers endured that night, and how that experience changed you. I want to thank you, and I admire you for helping whomever you could, and recounting and speaking openly about it over the years. I know dad's cousins were in the hands of a very capable crew. I am so glad a tribute will be built, and would like to help if I can. Is there a website with information? By the way, I noticed in one of the hospital photos, the caption stated you were celebrating your birthday on 1/4. Happy Birthday Beverly, and I hope you have since had a fulfilling and meaningful life. Dad and I look forward to the unveiling of the memorial. Thanks again, - Amanda.
