The only way that you should get a Video Card that runs on the AGP bus, is if you are smoking crack!.
Seriously, though the AGP bus is for all intents and purposes, defunct. I would even recommend that if you are planning on upgrading your video card, and your motherboard does not support PCIe (PCI Express), you upgrade your motherboard. If upgrading to a PCIe motherboard is not an option, then I would recommend you get the most inexpensive video card that will do what you need it to do.
There is also PCI-X which is out there, it is essentially just a souped up version of the PCI buss, and something you want to also stay away from.
Nvidia 6600/6800 cards are VERY reasonable now, and a good deal IMHO. Once you start getting into the GeForce 7xxxx numebrs the price goes up exponentially.
