Mills and Boon Book Mid to Late 80s

Don't remember book name or author but it was one of the first Mills and Boons books I read and I still have a lasting impression of it. From recollection the story was about a girl/late teens/early twenties, her parents had died and she was in the care of her guardian, who was (I think) either her older stepbrother or stepbrother to one of her parents. She I think was an artist. One night there was an awful storm and they got together. They restled with their feelings and I seem to recall he gave her a Moonstone necklace. I think Moonstone may have been in the title.... any help appreciated
