I am looking for that too, BUT REALLY, I am looking for an OLDER version of a childrens book, maybe it was ChildCraft's first set, I don't know, and I do not have any dates.
The style of the illustrations was much older than the 1949 ChildCraft books. I do have Vol 1, 2, and 10 but I grew up with them and want to keep them.
The cover of the book I really want: a very dark cover that was embossed or molded...Leather, I think, with poems and few stories and an early wonderful illustration style. One story was about a little black boy, about 5 years old maybe, and his mammy, and his job was to bring a pound of cold butter somewhere, but it was melting.
I only had the first book. I want it for the illustrations. It was my mom's book.
I do not know what the 1937 ChildCraft books look like.....If anyone can tell me, it would be appreciated.
