This English hardback book about elementary chemistry for secondary school children has a green cover with a picture of an oil refinery on it. It contains many experiments that kids used to be able to do at home and is very well illustrated with colour line drawings and photos. It is set out in sections starting with basic elements and progressing to more complex compounds etc. The first part shows how to assemble a simple chemistry set and shows how to build a cabinet in which to keep it all. This book totally transformed the way I looked at the subject of chemistry when I studied it all those years ago, but I sold the book along with all my equipment when I left school and I would love to read it again.
