I know the plot of a harlequin presents, but do not know the author. I believe that it was written in the 70's or 80's. I think that the book cover shows a girl carrying a suitcase. The story starts off with a girl walking down the side on the road only to be struck by a car. The driver takes her to the hospital and then home with him because she has nowhere else to go. She had been kicked out of the place where she had been living.
