I have been searching for one particular novel for a very long time. I think it was written by Janet Dailey - but I'm not sure as it might even have been Caroline Mortimer or Betty ... something. The plot was about a girl who goes on a cruise where she meets the hero. However she has a secret which is that she has a brain tumor and only has months to live. Her cruise is supposed to be a way of escaping for a short time from the future so spends all her savings knowing that on her return she has to go into a hospice as she has no relatives, or something like that... Anyway, I think (not sure) her name was Wendy Brown or some other nondescript name (which the hero focuses upon, convinced she's travelling under a pseudonym and is hiding a guilty secret so treats her badly). When he eventually finds out, he's devastated and mortified over the way he has treated her.
I would really appreciate it if anyone remembers this book and could provide me with the title of the novel and the author and put me out of my misery! Have been searching for so long and google searches turn up nothing.
