Posted by Dragonfly The book was basically about this little, brown, fuzzy creature; I don't believe this was supposed to be set on Earth. The creature lived in the woods, but it was dispossessed of his home when the "people" of that world encroached upon his forest. He kept getting kicked out of home after home until he finally dug himself a hole (I think, or something like that) and he went to sleep for a long time. Then he finally emerged from his hole and all the people were gone and the cities, that were built over the world, had plants and trees growing up through the cracks and nature was making a comeback. A very 70's book, to be sure. Anyway, I know it's not much to go on, but I hope one of you knows of this book. I've spent many an hour scouring used bookstores looking for it, to no avail. When I was a kid in the 70's there was a book that I checked out from my school's library. I'm sure it was written during that time, because I can remember the "new" smell of the book. I can't for the life of me remember the title or more than a few of the details, but I hope I have enough to go on.
