children's book of unknown title

My niece had a favorite book as a child in the early l980's. The story was of a mother mouse and her son who lost their home, and had to move from place to place. They lived for a while with a shrew, but found it unpleasant. Finally they found a new home of their own in a hollow tree, and the last picture in the book shows them having tea, drinking out of acorn caps. The book was drawn in sepia, I think. I'd love to find it for her for Christmas, but I've never seen the book myself. I'd appreciate so much if anyone knows the title of this book. Thanks.
