I am looking for the title of a children's book. The story surrounded a young boy who had (I believe) 3 older brothers who were all stronger. When they poked fun at the youngest boy, something terrible happened to each one of them. For example, one brother was chopping wood and he swung the ax into his leg. The illustration is of a small tree, a big burly man with and ax, and the small younger brother all on a hill. The boy finds a goose and the goose causes magical things to happen such as an old knotted log turning into a beautiful, flying boat. Somewhere in the story you are introduced to (I think) 3 spoiled, rotten princesses in a castle, and I think they each want the goose. I remember the end having a wedding cake with the topper being the boy holding the goose and young princess who was nice. Basically, the goose brings the boy good fortune. There was also a decrepid old man in the boy's path along the way. I can picture the illustrations. They were fantastic and detailed. For a child the book seemed a little overwelming, but I was facinated by it. I know I gave a lot of random info, but I would appreciate any help.
