Playhouse? Snapdragons? Sound familiar?

I'm looking for a book about a child (I believe it was a boy) whose parents built a closed-in gazebo-looking playhouse to play in, on rainy days. The child helped to build it and they also planted snapdragons outside of it. I'm guessing it was published in the late 60's/early-to-mid 70's because I recall the parents were "hippie" types. If you know the author and/or title, PLEASE email me!
